Our partner is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer for a position located in Plymouth, MI. The role primarily focuses on outside sales and is responsible for the origination of residential first mortgages through an external referral network. The position requires the ability to generate prospects independently to reach goals and objectives, offering a monthly draw limit and performance-driven commissions.
Responsibilities
Ensure exceptional member experience throughout the mortgage journey in accordance with the client’s standards.
Develop self-generating referral networks to achieve sales goals and monthly closed loan and deposit expectations.
Complete mortgage loan applications online, over the phone, or in-person.
Communicate and set expectations with members regarding information needed for the application process.
Pull tri-merge credit reports to confirm program eligibility based on the member's credit history and/or FICO scores.

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of experience in residential mortgage lending.
Valid Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration.
Strong understanding of mortgage industry lending practices and programs.
Proven ability to cultivate, manage, and maintain referral partnerships to generate mortgage leads.
Experience working in a sales-centric, goal-oriented environment.
Strong professionalism and ability to provide an exceptional member experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Ability to handle challenging customer conversations with professionalism.
Strong teamwork abilities with colleagues.
Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.
Capacity to handle the stress of meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and databases.
Experience reaching or exceeding sales goals and objectives.
Ability to adapt well to change and learn quickly.
Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of personal accountability.
Proficiency using Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency with lead generation and achieving self-generated origination sales goals.
Proficiency with Encompass.
Experience originating equity loans/lines.
Experience gathering deposits.
Experience with specialty products such as construction, FHA, VA, etc.
