Job Overview:
The Middleware System Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of middleware solutions that enable seamless integration between various software applications and systems within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of middleware technologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues. The Middleware System Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of middleware platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:

Design middleware solutions that align with business requirements and integrate with existing systems.
Develop, test, and implement middleware components and services.
Create and maintain detailed design and architecture documentation.
Implementation and Configuration:

Install, configure, and upgrade middleware platforms and applications.
Ensure middleware environments are optimized for performance, availability, and security.
Develop and implement automation scripts for deployment and configuration management.
Maintenance and Support:

Monitor middleware systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Perform routine maintenance, including patching and upgrades.
Troubleshoot and resolve middleware-related issues, providing timely support to application and infrastructure teams.
Integration:

Develop and manage integration solutions between various applications and systems.
Ensure data integrity and consistency across integrated systems.
Implement and maintain API gateways and ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) solutions.
Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to understand integration needs and requirements.
Provide technical guidance and training to team members and stakeholders.
Prepare and deliver reports and presentations on system performance, issues, and improvements.
Security and Compliance:

Implement and enforce security best practices for middleware systems.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
Innovation and Improvement:

Stay updated with the latest middleware technologies and industry trends.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Participate in the evaluation and selection of new middleware products and tools.
Required Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in middleware administration, development, and support.
Proven experience with middleware technologies such as IBM WebSphere, Oracle Fusion Middleware, TIBCO, or similar platforms.
Experience with integration tools and techniques, including APIs, web services, and messaging systems.
Skills:

Strong knowledge of middleware architecture and design principles.
Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.G., Java, Python, Bash).
Familiarity with database technologies (e.G., SQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:

Relevant certifications in middleware technologies (e.G., IBM Certified System Administrator, Oracle Certified Middleware Administrator) are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud-based middleware solutions (e.G., AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.G., Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.G., Jenkins, Ansible).
Familiarity with ITIL processes and methodologies.
Work Environment:
This position typically operates in a professional office environment.
May require occasional travel for training, conferences, or project-related activities.
On-call availability for critical system issues may be required.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to the IT Manager or Director of IT Operations.
May have mentoring or supervisory responsibilities over junior analysts or interns.
