Mid-Level Geologist

Job Description
AECOM is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join the staff in our Cincinnati, OH office as a mid-level geologist. The successful candidate will assist our team in conducting environmental investigations across many sites and industries. This position will support a variety of projects that may include surface water, sediment, soil, and groundwater remedial investigations, site characterizations, remedial designs, and remedial actions. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Support a wide range of environmental investigation and remediation projects under CERCLA, RCRA, and State jurisdictions.
- Contribute directly to the preparation and review of technical project deliverables (e.G., work plans, remedial investigations, and monitoring reports).
- Contribute on projects regarding technical approach, numerical analysis, cost estimation, planning, design, scheduling, quality control, and safety.
- Job duties will involve both field work and office assignments with occasional overnight travel required.
- Manage and/or perform a variety of field work including environmental assessments, environmental investigations, site inspections, feasibility tests, remedial implementation, construction oversight, and subcontractor oversight.
- Developing clear and defensible Conceptual Site Models for complex sites.
- Conducts research and does investigation work as required.
- Plans and organizes project studies.
- Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures.
- Evaluating complex environmental data sets, including the use of modeling and statistics.
- Preparing, work plans, and technical reports, and presentations for technical meetings with clients and regulators.
- Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.
- Actively communicating with the technical team and Project Manager.
- May oversee the work of less experienced scientists.
