Lays out reference lines and points, computes position of framing and furring channels, and marks position, using chalk line.
Assembles and installs metal framing and decorative trim for windows, doorways, and vents
Installs horizontal and vertical metal or studs for attachment of wallboard on interior walls, using hand tools.
Installing metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
Reading design plans in order to provide minimal wallboard to avoid unnecessary waste of materials
Protecting structures or surfaces near work areas to avoid damage.
Cutting drywall to the right size, using utility knives and power sawsas needed.
Fastening drywall panels to interior wall studs, using nails or screwsas needed.
Requirements
Education and/or Work Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
3+ years related experience (preferred).
Preferred Skills and Abilities
Basic hand and power tool skills
Ability to read and use measuring tools such as tape measure
Ability to work and communicate with others
Analyze information and evaluate problems
Ability to safely work at heights
Work safely with all members of the crew
Willingness to travel, with frequent overnight stays. Hotel and per-diem provided
