Full job description
Update/maintain database with patients' current demographic and insurance information.
Verify insurance benefits and eligibility prior to appointments.
Relay insurance information (copay, coinsurance, deductible, etc.) to staff.
Answer patient questions pertaining to their financial responsibilities.
Review charges and submit claims to insurance on a daily basis.
Process insurance remittances and research denied claims for corrections.
Generate and send statements to patients for balances due.
Communicate with patients regarding overdue balances and establishing payment plans.
Submit Prior Authorization requests to insurance companies for medications not covered.
Filling in for other office staff periodically if needed.
