We're looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic individual to become a key player in our Testing Team. In this role, you will engineer and execute hardware designs for assembling, installing, and conducting validation and verification tests on vital components and systems of electric aircraft. Your tasks will include generating intricate CAD designs for parts and assemblies, engaging in hands-on prototyping, and adapting designs in response to changes in flight hardware.
Key Duties:
Led and guide the creation of hardware designs for assembly, installation, and testing of essential flight components, collaborating with teams such as Airframe and Actuators, Propulsion and Avionics, and Software to understand the systems' intricacies and operational demands.
Produce comprehensive design documentation, including detailed drawings, parts lists, and assembly guidelines, while overseeing the procurement of materials and coordination of manufacturing processes.
Oversee the integration of designs, ensuring they meet initial specifications and adapt to ongoing hardware changes.
Manage project timelines and collaborate with team leaders to prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively, aiming to mitigate risks in critical project areas.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance the productivity of the Design Team.
Oversee the Design Team's hardware resources and suggest investments to improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
Holds at least a bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline, and has 3 years of experience.
Robust engineering acumen and problem-solving prowess.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining productive working relationships.
A practical, hands-on approach.
Proficiency in CAD and engineering drawing.
Experience in mechanical design and the construction of high-load and high-precision components and structures.
Knowledge of weldments, hydraulic, and pneumatic system design and fabrication.
Machining skills with equipment like lathes, mills, welders, etc.
Proven ability to manage projects from concept to commissioning.
Requirements
Preferred Experience:
Over 3 years of industry experience aerospace, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline
Proficiency with SolidWorks or NX.
Project management skills.
Expertise in aerospace testing equipment design.
Experience in structural analysis, including manual calculations and FEA.
A background in hardware testing, including developing and implementing test protocols.
Experience in the design and fabrication of airframes
Experience in automated hardware design, sensor implementation, and PLC programming.
Knowledge in hardware in the loop testing, flight hardware design, and ground support equipment.
Familiarity with High Voltage systems and aircraft FAA certification processes.
