MECHANICAL DESIGNER
Applies knowledge and skills developed in field. Applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform assigned tasks or sequence of tasks for projects with complex features.
Able to determine design criteria, drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components, defining rough sketches and notes to include material quantities and equipment specifications.
Implements system types as selected by the Lead Engineer and provides complete construction documents that match the client's and team's requirements.
Required to complete field walk downs and make appropriate sketches.
Performs assignment inclusive of planning and conducting a complete project with diverse designs.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completes layouts from simple to complex projects independently.
Determines where to cut sections and select standard sections.
Updates P&
ID's.
Selects and modifies standard details.
Performs simple calculations and measurements and prepares material and documents as required.
Responsible for design criteria for discipline and order of work.
Performs and reviews calculations, material documents as assigned by Squad Leader.
Responsible for discipline drawing package .
May check other designer's work within discipline, and correct any errors or inconsistencies that may be found during the checking process .
Produces complete drawings for moderate to complex work.
Responsible that all drawings comply with client drawing standards.
Responsible that all drawings comply with CLIENT internal standards.
Coordinates with team members for overall project progress.
Minimum of 7 years experience in the oil or steel making industries.
Proficient in Auto Cad products especially 3D.
Ability to work with point cloud scans.
