The Materials Manager is responsible for creation and maintenance of the long-term Production Plan, the short-term Production Schedule, production order management, and supplier and inventory control to support implementation of the Production Plan &
Schedules. Providing supervision to the warehouse, production floor and operations teams within the Controls Business Unit. Working closely with MLS leadership to create Demand, Capacity, and Supply Plans to support Revenue Forecasts.
Requirements
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Warehouse, production and operations supervision
Essential Functions:

Owns creation and maintenance of Production Plan based on demand forecasts derived from provided forecast
Works closely with Operations team to build capacity, demand, and supply plans to support Production Plan
Coordinates with team to build and maintain appropriate short-term Production Schedule for shop floor to execute
Manages inventory planning, procurement, and control of all items within Mitchell Manufacturing
Supervises Warehouse function, including receiving, shipping, kitting, and movement within the production facility
Initiates actions to mitigate risks associated with delays in production associated with shortage materials and supplies or approved expedited requests
Creates, release, coordinates &
expedites the placementof purchase orders and/or delivery of material used in manufacturing
Initiates the shipping process and supporting documents for completed jobs
Closes production tickets and initiates customer billings
Monitors and maintains Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs
Facilitates New Product Development (NPD) activities including scheduling of new product launch, inventory ramp-up, and phase-out of obsolete product
Creates and maintains Bills of Material (BOM) as needed to support production
Participates in Continuous Improvement (CI) projects
Responsible for maintaining acceptable inventory levels while meeting inventory reduction goals
Responsible for identifying excess and slow moving or aged inventory and work with business and sales team to create and execute an action plan
Responsible for maintaining data integrity of parts database including pricing and part number changes
Accountable for resolving inventory issues with vendors and suppliers
Perform accurate transactions to eliminate A/P issues and ensure efficient receiving
Ability to develop procurement process improvements to ensure future / long term success
Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
Experience Required:

5+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or manufacturing planning
Knowledgeable in master scheduling, production planning and detailed scheduling, demand management, purchasing, and cost accounting techniques
Experience and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and Microsoft Suite Skills
Prior ERP experience required
Comfortable with video conferencing software
Understanding of supply chain planning tools and strategies to achieve inventory goals

Education Required:
Bachelors degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field strongly preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain at a stationary position 50% of the time
Ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds
Work Environment:

Ability to remain at a stationary position 50% of the time
This position requires onsite attendance and is not eligible for telework
