As a Marine Electrician at Talent Source, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on marine vessels within the shipyard environment. Below are the key responsibilities and requirements for this position:
Responsibilities:
Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components on marine vessels, including wiring, lighting, navigation equipment, communication systems, and propulsion systems.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to determine installation requirements and troubleshooting procedures.
Perform routine maintenance inspections to identify and address electrical issues before they escalate.
Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Collaborate with other technicians and tradespeople to complete electrical projects on time and within budget.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, equipment inventory, and maintenance schedules.
Adhere to safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries in the shipyard environment.
Provide training and guidance to junior electricians and apprentices on electrical safety and procedures.
Stay current with advances in marine electrical technology and industry best practices.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members to coordinate work activities and ensure project objectives are met.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a marine electrician or in a related field.
Knowledge of marine electrical systems, components, and regulations.
Proficiency in electrical installation techniques, troubleshooting procedures, and testing methods.
Familiarity with marine equipment, such as generators, propulsion systems, and navigation instruments.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
