Job Description
NBCUniversal is looking for a Manager of Asset Operations to manage the day-to-day operations and personnel for the New York Asset Center.
In this role, you are responsible for overseeing and improving upon the daily activities and administrative functions that relates to the Asset Center personnel and processes. You will partner closely with internal teams, productions, and other customers as the subject matter expert able to advise on all asset questions and processes. You will focus on identifying efficiencies and opportunities to enhance our client’s experience and long-term initiatives that contribute to the advancement of our organization and financial health.
What You’ll Do:

Coordinate and manage daily activities of the New York Asset Center, including scheduling, crewing, budgeting, purchasing, trucking needs, equipment rentals, and timecards.
Oversee office administration functions including customer onboarding, order processing, invoicing/billing, client deals/discounts, credit approvals, dispute resolution, vendor relations, out-of-state shipping, monthly accounting close, etc.
Manage union department heads across the facility to ensure they are working in alignment with current business strategies.
Assist with personnel issues within the department, including performance evaluations, approval for overtime, timekeeping, vacation requests, disciplinary actions, and other related issues.
Research, document, and implement continual improvements to operational processes, systems, safety, and departmental policies.
Provide operational support including but not limited to:
PCard suspension issues, facilities maintenance/CapEx approvals, coordinating continuous returns of IT assets, disposal of confidential production finance documents, and intercepting physical mail for processing.
Oversee asset processing:
acquisition, cataloging, barcoding, inventorying, merchandising, decommissioning, and liquidation.
Measure and report rental inventory utilization;
provide sound recommendations around asset acquisition, liquidation, and merchandising based on category, period, location, and other attributes.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
Manage offsite and onsite storage facilities for Asset Centers.
Work with production accountants, line producers, and UPMs, along with Universal Television Finance and Production Executives, to ensure studio procedures are followed.
Work closely with production accounting to reconcile vendor billing that cannot be automated in Basware.
Maintain Asset Center website with set portfolios and scale to include inventory at-large with the help of department leads on-site.
Manage operational charges for the production teams, including labor and storage rentals.
Act as a liaison between show production management, finance, and production accountants.
Support ongoing operational requirements as directed by senior management.
Meet with executives, producers, and other production team members to discuss project/show needs.
Communicate with production accountants to validate rates to align to their overall production budgets, along with researching/fixing any billing discrepancies.
Work with Facilities, Security, and Environmental Health and Safety to maintain a safe working environment.
