Job Description
The Manager of ECHO provides leadership and supervision to ECHO (resident services) staff members within the department in consultation and collaboration with the Senior Director of Family Services. The person in this position assumes administrative responsibilities required of the different programs (i.E., monthly reports, coordinating Commodities Supplemental Food Program, administering the HUD Service Coordinator grant, etc.). In addition, this position fills a role within ECHO as the Education, Health, and Wellness Coordinator or Community Engagement Coordinator to bring these services and activities to residents living on Aurora Housing Authority properties.
Works with the Senior Director of Family Services to assure that the mission, values, and goals of AHA, the Department of Family Services and ECHO are actualized by ECHO staff members.
Assures that all ECHO programs are conducted utilizing Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) and Trauma Informed Community Building (TICB) methodologies with the goal of empowering residents to share their strengths with each other and to achieve safe and service-enriched communities.
Makes recommendations to the Senior Director in the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, suspension, lay-off, reward and discipline of ECHO staff members.
Provide one-on-one supervision to 4-6 ECHO staff members, including reviews.
Performs administrative duties as assigned, and to do so accurately and in a timely fashion (i.E., monthly reports, Service Coordinator grant administration, CSFP reports, etc.).
Leads ECHO team meetings 2 times per month, and more often as necessary.
Supervises the development of calendar of events for each area of ECHO’s work on all AHA properties where ECHO has a presence.
Assist resident-led Resident Councils in conducting effective and productive meetings, improving volunteer leader training, and encouraging volunteer participation.
Identifies, recruits, and collaborates with community partners and organizations to connect them with residents through workshops and events. Establishes, builds, and maintains partnerships with relevant organizations and individuals to connect residents with opportunities and resources.
In the role of Education, Health and Wellness Coordinator:
Coordinates and promotes a variety of workshops and projects to increase health and wellness of residents (e.G. cooking classes, balance classes, health coverage workshops, nutritional food programs, etc.).
Plans and coordinates adult educational programs such as ESL classes, GED classes, and vocational programs.
Collaborates with Aurora Public School district, Cherry Creek Public School district and other community organizations to connect residents with early childhood education, after school programs and other educational opportunities for children and youth.
Or, in the role of Community Engagement Coordinator:
Plans and coordinates social events at all AHA properties to serve both older adults and families.
Collaborates with resident council members and other ECHO staff members to organize various events.
Provides communication such as flyers, calendars, and newsletters for upcoming activities.
In coordination with the Senior Director, serves as the ECHO liaison with other AHA departments and external partner agencies.
Serves as a liaison and advocates for AHA residents with community partners and property managers.
Participates in weekly supervision with the Senior Director.
Other duties as assigned.
