What you'll do at Places orders and oversees the placement and validation of orders within high-growth merchandise categories and departments by managing the calibration of parameters within the supply chain process to determine appropriate inventory levels, supplying forecasts for drop-ship vendor (DSV) inventory;
developing, coordinating, and completing demand plans with suppliers and other business partners, creating and authorizing forecast parameter modifications;
creating and implementing new item forecasts;
ensuring item-level purchase quantities align with open-to-buy (OTB) forecasts;
balancing financial trade-offs between in-stock rates and inventory turn across the department;
directing and optimizing supply chain execution to align with sales, in-stock, and profit metrics;
and determining solutions for purchase order failures. Maintains and executes financial plans and open-to-buy (OTB) forecasts for Merchandise Department by adjusting financial projections against actual results;
preparing, revising, and executing department budgets (for example, sales, markdowns, receipts), seasonal buy plans, and line review financials;
compiling and reconciling financial plans and forecasts across categories and departments;
determining item and feature quantities;
conducting analyses to identify business drivers and levers;
developing partnershipswith store counterparts to drive multi-channel decisions;
and developing and presenting financial recommendations to merchants. Supports the continuous development and implementation of financial strategies for complex merchandise categories and departments by analyzing data and the impact of key variables (for example seasonal events, assortment mix, market dynamics) on department performance and risk exposure;
informing strategic decision-making through bottom up inventory planning;
ensuring recommendations provided by others support financial goals;
analyzing and reconciling seasonal inventory flow plans across categories and departments to identify discrepancies in financial results (especially related to ensuring customer demand and return on investment goals are met);
executing actions to correct discrepancies;
modeling future inventory plans against supplier capability and sales expectations;
creating partnerships with suppliers to drive in-stock rates;
delivering key performance metrics (for example, in-stock, inventory turnover, return on investment, sales, margin, channel mix);
and communicating objectives and results of financial and operational performance to external and internal management. Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders;
supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs;
identifying and communicating goals and objectives;
building accountabilityfor and measuring progress in achieving results;
identifying and addressing improvement opportunities;
and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training;
mentoring;
assigning duties;
providing recognition;
and ensuring diversity awareness. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans;
