Overview:
As a Data Science Manager at Gallagher, you will have the opportunity to leverage our cutting-edge enterprise Data Science platform, which includes Generative AI tools. However, your role goes beyond just using these tools. You will lead a team of experienced and passionate individuals, guiding their growth and development through training and mentorship. Together, you will work on projects that will have significant visibility throughout the company, making a tangible impact on our operations. You will present your solutions and guide projects from initiation to change management.

Your expertise will be crucial in using both internal and external data to develop predictive models and extract valuable insights to solve complex and high-profile business challenges.

How you'll make an impact:
Develop, analyze, and model operational, economic, management, accounting, and other organizational data to quantify the competitive performance of business segments, evaluate potential operational changes, and design new approaches and methodologies.
Apply statistical, mathematical, predictive modeling, and business analysis skills to manage and manipulate complex high-volume data from various sources.
Manage and provide oversight for a team of data science professionals, providing guidance, setting goals, and ensuring the attainment of overall department goals.
Apply industry knowledge to a data science context, building real-world use cases and demonstrating how data science can best solve them.
Utilize Generative AI on a wide range of tasks from measuring enterprise projects to innovating new ways to generate insights from unstructured data.
Present Data Science methods and outcomes to high level leaders and large audiences, helping them understand how Data Science can influence corporate strategy.

About you:
Degree in a quantitative field, such as data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, finance, or economics.
7 years of experience, including using statistical modeling and/or machine learning techniques to build models that have driven company decision-making, and/or experience in the insurance, insurance brokerage, or consulting industry.
Master's or PhD preferred in a quantitative field.
Experience working through the full life cycle of data acquisition, model building, deployment, and monitoring in a production environment.
Experience with market-facing functions of the insurance industry, such as underwriting, sales, claims, or consulting.
Experience with cloud tools and structures, preferably Azure, as well as distributed data/computing tools like Spark, Snowflake, Databricks, OpenAI, Hugging Face and DevOps.
