JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the daily processing of outgoing mail at the work location.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Place expedited orders into expedited envelopes for delivery.
Review primary sort for ongoing activity changes.
Complete mailroom audits for accuracy.
Match multiple quantity orders and prepare for shipping.
Ensure packages are labeled properly for delivery vendors and moves Gaylords using hand jack for pallets upon arrival of shipping carrier into trailer for outgoing delivery.
Moves pallets upon arrival of FedEx or other shipping carrier into trailer using hand jack for pallets for outgoing delivery.
Generate and submit mail reports and paperwork.
Work with management to identify and resolve delays in delivery issues and other duties as assigned.
COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS
Position constantly interacts with others from work unit, sharing data and/or information.
Communication is with other workers, plant manager, and shift supervisor.
Most communication is verbal, with the exception of written notes to other workers or supervisor.
Position is required to read:
House letters, Reports, Plant procedures, Operations manuals and TQM materials.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
Heavy work-exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Stooping;
crouching;
reaching;
pushing;
pulling;
fingering;
grasping;
reading fine print.
Associate stands/walks for 8 hours a day.
Must wear company approved safety shoes and hearing protection.
Must be able to operate electric equipment to include but not limited to a pallet jack and forklift.
