Candidates should have experience leading jobs with data, voice, alarm, video, and paging systems. This full-time position requires travel and a willingness to learn and help in other structured cabling environments and receive on-the-job training for CCTV. This position requires technicians to travel up to 5 to 8 weeks at a time. We seek self-motivated and reliable technicians who can work independently and find solutions to complete the job. Requirements:
CCTV, Data Cable Technician with CAT5e, fiber optic, and network experience
Available for extensive travel, 5 to 8 weeks at a time, road warrior
Flexible and willing to work on-call, early morning, day, night, and weekend shifts depending on the requirements of the job
Experience in low voltage cabling, CCTV Install, and Fiber Experience a plus
Knowledgeable of all industry standards (NEC, TIA/EIA, BICSI)
Industry-specific certifications (BICSI, Systimax, Panduit, Beldon, Corning) are a huge plus
Responsibilities:
Learning on-the-job training for CCTV including installing, troubleshooting, and repairing cabling systems and equipment in IP Video, IP Physical Access Control/LAN/WAN infrastructure, and wireless LAN
Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various cabling infrastructure
Provide basic setup, installation, and testing services for Phone Systems, Wireless systems (AP, Antennas), and Network devices (routers, switches, servers)
Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work
Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations
Perform site surveys, and develop a scope of work and materials list
Installing cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and inner ducts
Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational
Troubleshoot issues with cable networks to ensure proper functioning and compliance with codes and requirements
Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter, our customers, or OSHA
Perform any other duties not specifically stated herein, but which your supervisor may assign
