Job Description
KIPP Jacksonville seeks a Literacy Curriculum Specialist who will serve as a curriculum manager for the four schools across the KIPP Jacksonville region. The LCS furthers our mission by overseeing the full implementation of the K-12 curriculum to lead students to the highest literacy achievement results possible. The LCS ensures students have learning experiences that are aligned to standards, rigorous, and engaging. The LCS is an engaging facilitator who leads professional development about literacy and teaching best practices, drives data conversations about student progress, models lesson delivery, and offers support where needed.
Success would be measured by literacy curriculum implementation results and student achievement in literacy. The LCS is a full-time, manager-level role that reports to the Director of Literacy on the shared services team and is part of the larger academic team that supports schools. As a member of the shared services team, this individual would be responsible for doing whatever it takes to ensure that students develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need to succeed throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond.
This position is year-round and performs duties as assigned by their manager. Typical hours are 8:
00 a.M. to 5:
00 p.M. but can vary based on role and season. Some work from home days might be possible.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Collaborate with regional and school-based leaders to develop and refine a horizontally and vertically aligned K-12 ELA framework
Develop and facilitate region-wide professional development for teachers in order to build our teachers’ and leaders’ capacity with ELA content, planning, and instructional execution
Support the Director of Literacy to oversee the full implementation of KIPP Wheatley Curriculum across all grade levels, K-8 and AP for ALL at the high school level.
Create and revise regional curriculum calendars in collaboration with the academic team and schools
Ensure alignment of curriculum to standards and state assessments
Serve as a liaison to school-based content leads with curriculum related questions
Analyze regional data in collaboration with regional and school-based leadership to identify areas of need, and support the facilitation of region-wide instructional initiatives that lead us to our goals
Monitor and evaluate school-based intervention and instructional technology programs related to literacy
Work with Reading Interventionists across the region to ensure efficacy of interventions
Conduct regular instructional reviews of literacy-based instruction
Serve as a model teacher and assist as needed in the classroom setting
Provide coaching as needed to teachers and school-based content leaders
Other duties as assigned
COMPENSATION
The starting salary for this role is typically $50,00-$55,000The base salary does not include any stipends for which the candidate might be eligible.
