Aperio Global, LLC is currently seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join our team in FT Meade, MD. As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Linux-based systems and servers to ensure their smooth operation and optimal performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, implement security measures, and drive process improvements.
Responsibilities:
Manage and monitor Linux-based systems and servers.
Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux operating systems and associated software.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
Implement security measures and best practices to protect system integrity.
Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity.
Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization.
Participate in system upgrades and patch management.
Create and maintain system documentation, including configurations and processes.
Assist in capacity planning and scalability efforts.
Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Relevant experience must be in the installation or maintenance of network or telecommunications equipment and/or using specialized test equipment and network analysis tools (e.G., network management software, data analyzers, BERTS and OTDR).
Requirements
4 years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator with bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
2 years with a master's degree in networking or related field
6 years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator High school GED
Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line interface.
Experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Familiarity with network protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
Knowledge of system security principles and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications (e.G., Linux+, RHCSA) are a plus.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and A+ certificates are preferred.
