Job Overview:
The Licensed Social Work Associate (LSWA) serves as an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, providing essential social work services in accordance with District of Columbia regulations. This position requires a strong commitment to supporting individuals and communities in need, while working under the guidance and supervision of a licensed Supervising Social Worker.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Support and Case Management:
- Conduct initial assessments and participate in the development of client care plans.
- Provide direct support to clients, including crisis intervention, advocacy, and referral services.
- Collaborate with other professionals to coordinate client care and resources.
2. Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
- Ensure all services and documentation comply with DC social work regulations and standards.
3. Community Outreach and Education:
- Participate in community outreach programs to identify and engage individuals in need of social work services.
- Provide educational resources and support to clients and their families.
4. Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities under the guidance of the Supervising Social Worker.
- Attend regular supervision sessions and team meetings.
5. Ethical Practice:
- Adhere to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain client confidentiality and practice with cultural competence and sensitivity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field.
- Licensed Social Work Associate (LSWA) in the District of Columbia.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional development.
Working Conditions:
- Office setting with regular visits to client locations, which may include homes, schools, and community centers.
- Flexible hours, including possible evenings and weekends, to meet client needs.
