Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Lead Model Based Systems Engineer with a background in modeling large-scale high availability networks in support of Air Navigation Service Provider Programs as well as large complex DoD networks. This MBSE leader will work across function teams to design, develope, update, and analize SysML models for various systems an sub-stystems focusing on component interface modeling and systems integration.

Essential Functions:

Perform initial system analysis, including scope definition, problem analysis, requirements gathering and development
Design and develop architecture data models including data gathering, SysML diagram, activity diagram, and sequence diagram development
Model systems using UML, SysML, and UPDM modeling languages
Develop SySML models utilizing all nine diagram types
Support customer meetings, data gathering activities, and site visits where applicable.
Create custom output reports for the customer using software scripts to automatically pull information from the model
Develop SySML models for a network communication centric organization
Collaborate by use of expert communication/interpersonal skills to work effectively in both a team environment and independently
Mentor junior level modeling engineers
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
5 years experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and/or SysML applications and tools such as MagicDraw and/or IBM Rhapsody
4 years experience across various phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including but not limited to requirement analysis, design, development and testing, implementation, documentation, and evaluation
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

General knowledge of:
ServiceNow digital workflows
Cloud-Based technologies such as VMWare / AWS (Amazon Web Services)
Software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN)
Zero-trust networking based security models

INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification
Familiarity and demonstrated experience writing software scripts used in Cameo Systems Modeler.
Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler tool suite to include Teamwork Clould.
An understanding of current/future military systems architectures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving abilities, a proactive attitude, and an attention to detail.
Able to work remotely as needed with little supervision.
Experience in presenting and demonstrating MBSE modeling to potential customers.
Experience in presenting and demonstrating MBSE models during technical exchange meeting with stakeholders.
Able to perform operational analysis to define and decompose stragegic and tactical mission needs in sysml standard formats and viewpoints.
Able to perform architecture analysis to define and decompose platforms and systems into progressively granular levels of detail.
Significant experience and understanding regarding all 9 SySML diagram types.
Optional prior exposure or hands on experience with Innoslate, or IBM’s Rational product suite (Rhapsody and DOORS) to model using UML and SysML.
Able to perform requirements analysis to assess operational needs against candidate architectures to develop performance, functional, and interface requirements for various platforms, systems, and operations at multiple levels of detail.
