Position:
Lead Painter
Summary:
Seeking professional, dependable, and hardworking individual with a passion for painting. The desired candidate will have a background in automotive painting or industrial painting on metal surfacesthat also possesses a positive attitude, excellent teamwork skills, have a strong work ethic, leadership skills, &
a keen eye for detail. Additionally, the desired candidate will be experienced in prepping the products prior to painting. This includes filling holes and cracks with putty, sanding, priming / sealing, and removal of stickers / decals.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
Reports directly to the Plant Managers.
Must be comfortable painting bigger items, i.E., shipping containers.
Must be able to help prepare and prep units for painting, i.E., taping windows, doors, identification placards and priming units before painting.
Preparing surfaces to be painted by filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they're smooth.
Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them.
Removes stickers or decals with scrapers before painting.
Must be able to use airless paint sprayer.
Cleaning equipment and work areas using water, solvents, and other cleaning aids.
Quality assurance (QA) duties, including reporting damages with containers or materials.
Ensures each unit is fully and correctly painted before leaving the paint booth.
Maintains clean work area &
5S of paint booth.
Analyzes productions schedules to determine timely ordering of paint materials and supplies with Tool Room Lead.
Communicate with coworkers and leaders to move production line.
Must be able to lead a team, coaching them on errors and improvements.
Qualifications / Skills:
Ability to read and understand safety guidelines.
Capable of communicating and handling workplace issues that are against company policies.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Efficient individual with excellent time management skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Attention to detail.
Working knowledge of basic painter tools and maintenance of airless paint sprayer.
Education &
Requirements:
Valid Drivers License.
High School Diploma or GED.
English &
Spanish is a plus.
OSHA Certified.
