Job Description
As an employee of DeAngelo Contracting Service’s (DCS’s) Asset Management Division, you will need to have an eye for detail, all while upholding our company’s morals and principles, as well as adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The perfect applicant is a highly motivated Lead Highway Technician that can perform a variety of tasks related to the day-to-day maintenance, servicing, repair of roadways, and other infrastructure assets. This person will also be responsible for maintaining contracted assets, such as roadways, medians, signs, lighting, guardrails, fences, bridges, tunnels, vegetation, etc., per the standards in the contract and as directed by a supervisor.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Demonstrates and promotes a positive safety culture by requiring full compliance of the project team members and subcontractors to adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Creates safe Maintenance of Traffic control by setup and removal of traffic control devices including cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc.
Maintains and repairs highways and other surfaces including potholes, striping, adding, or replacing reflectors, delineators, working with concrete and asphalt.
Maintains clean appearance of highways and medians through litter and debris removal and disposal (may use litter claw or another device).
Repairs/maintains functionality of slopes, berms, culverts, drains, etc. through use of shovels and other hand or power tools and equipment.
Controls vegetation appearance and growth through use of lawn mowing equipment, hand or power trimmers, and chemical sprayers and other methods.
Maintains the appearance and functionality of signs, guardrails, fence, and lighting through repair and/or replacement using hand or power tools.
Must be comfortable working from heights in bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders, and aerial platforms lifts.
Transports crew and equipment to work sites operating vehicle pickup trucks and specialized motor vehicles and trailers.
Responsible for the proper management, preventative maintenance, and repair of trucks and equipment.
Maintain positive working relationships with the customer, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Promote a strong customer service culture among the project team members.
Required to be available for emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Directs and coordinates local emergency response and responds as needed to road closures or incidents.
Assists in making recommendations by monitoring employee performance for coaching, rewards, and disciplining employees to address complaints and resolve problems.

Carry out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures as amended from time to time.
