Position:
Part-Time Lawyer - Corporate and Civil
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Part-Time Lawyer to join our team at Seema Elahi MD Inc. The ideal candidate will have expertise in corporate and civil law, with a strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance. This is a part-time position, with a commitment of 20 - 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to the company and directorson corporate and civil matters
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
- Represent the company or directors in legal proceedings, such as lawsuits and negotiations
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure legal compliance in all aspects of the company's operations
- Develop and maintain relationships with external legal counsel and government agencies
- Advise on risk management and mitigation strategies
- Handle any other legal matters as assigned by the company.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate and civil law, preferably in the healthcare industry
- Strong understanding of healthcare laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
