Position Summary
Operate laser machine, which cuts parts out of raw steel. Check parts to blueprints, use calipers and micrometers, pull parts and stack on skids.
Responsibilities
Adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements.
Perform laser startup and PM’s of machine.
Operate overhead crane.
Check first and last pieces for quality. Ensure parts are free from blemishes.
Use pin gauges, calipers, mics, fabervision, and CMM to validate parts to prints.
Make adjustments such as laser offsets and alignment.
Stock parts in a safe and orderly manner.
Clean machine during and before end of shift.
Make sure all tools are returned to shadow board.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Previous experience in a related role preferred.
Previous experience leading employees required.
Able to make fast, accurate decisions relating to the production process and equipment.
Quality standards must be strictly adhered to, so attention to detail is extremely important.
Basic understanding of blueprints required.
Physical Requirements
The employee is required to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods of time. Employee will be required to reach or lift. Position is subject to substantial movements of the wrists, hands, or fingers.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as:
operating machines such as lathes where the seeing job is within arm’s reach.
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions:
Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
