The Jr. Product Manager for supplies is directly responsible for both product management for the supplies category on and coordinating and managing supplies from an inventory management and merchandising perspective. This position works with the Inventory &
Planning Analyst to develop a comprehensive assortment strategy to meet customer needs. Additionally, the Jr. Product Manager is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels for both customer-facing products and internal use, accurately pricing products to be competitive with the market as well as monitoring corporate KPIs in an effort to drive profitability.
A day in the life of a Jr. Product Manager
Manage assortment and inventory levels of OEM and secondary market supplies for sale on the website.
Work cross-functionally with various departments to project and maintain inventory levels of supplies for internal use at APMEX HQ and 9Fine Mint, the APMEX-owned minting facility located in the Oklahoma City metro.
Coordinate daily/weekly inventory movements between locations, ensuring inventory accuracy and availability.
Purchase new inventory either by utilizing existing relationships or by establishing new relationships with vendors in the industry.
Suggest for approval pricing and promotional strategies for supplies available for retail on
Work with Product Managers to ensure that correct supplies are part of 'recommended products' section wherever necessary to ensure customers are offered the option to add the relevant supplies to their precious metal purchases.
Review inventory out-of-stock reports, inventory depletions, and inventory low stock notices to ensure acceptable inventory levels are maintained;
utilize sales and clearance categories to draw down excess inventory where appropriate.
Prepare weekly recaps to communicate high-level business standing to management.
Coordinate and conduct regular inventory of supplies at APMEX, 9Fine Mint, and other storage facilities.
Grow professional and technical knowledge by participating in training workshops and establishing personal networks.
Any other duties as assigned by manager.

Education:
Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Merchandising, or a related field
Experience:
1 year of experience preferred
Knowledge of pricing strategies and profit margins is preferred
Prior experience in dealing with financial reporting is preferred (i.E. margin, sales, inventory)
Experience in retail, e-commerce, financial, or coin industries preferred
Experience working cross functionally is preferred
Relevant past experience would include Assistant Merchandise Buyer, Inventory Coordinator, Merchandise Planner, Category Manager, and other merchandising related fields
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel required. Intermediate skills with other Microsoft Office products
