Job Summary:
Giesecke + Devrient is seeking a IT Systems Engineer II to join our growing Corporate team in Twinsburg, OH.The IT Systems Engineer II ensures all necessary software components and production hardware are seamlessly integrated and functioning properly to support data-driven operational production systems. This position requires the ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve technology issues, configure and maintain production-related computer equipment, and support a variety of industry-standard tools and proprietary software systems. Excellent customer-service focus is required, with prompt resolution of reported production-down notices, including some after-hours situations. Strong collaboration with other departments is necessary to ensure production uptime of systems and avoid negative impact to product quality and cycle times. The IT Information Systems Engineer II participates in security audits, prepares necessary documents for compliance purposes, and strives to improve processes by using best practices. The system Engineer II will also ensure that the systems are running at optimum performance, resource capacity are maintained and the availability of services are met. This position includes an on-call rotation, and the ability to work non-standard or flex hours, may occasionally be necessary.
Job Duties:
Ability to create new technical solutions, improve existing designs, modify and test production-related software tools, and provide bug-fix support for operational equipment and production systems.
Administration and building of Physical and Virtual Server Infrastructure (VMWare)
Administration of Storage Area Network (SAN)
Windows Active Directory environment including group policies
Installation and maintaining both Windows and Linux Server infrastructure
Backup and restore processes including processes for DRP
Optimization and performance finetuning of services, systems and storage
Patch Management of servers and server based applications
Central Anti-Virus management
Installing server based application and managing the administration of the application health
Sever based application management such as SQL, sFTP, Fileservers, Print servers, PAM, Encryption, Web Services.
Monitor and manage audit logs, error log and system logs
Server, storage and server related application life cycle management
Asset management of servers infrastructure devices and applications
Ability to troubleshoot HW, Operating System and Server applications issues
Manage security, integrity and availability of mission critical systems
Project lead in the design and review system requirements for new applications and services
Desing and implement data center in accordance with the regulatory requirements
Introduce new process improvement ideas and technology to support and improve business
Administer basic databases and Secure Online service portal
Plan and implement server upgrades, vendor patches and vulnerability remediations
Provide level 2 help desk support to provide resolution to end-users problems and complaints.
Configuration of DHCP, DNS, NTP and other critical Domain required services.
Reporting on KPI's such as SLA, Compliance and Monitoring
Create and maintain departmental documentation, network diagrams, system interdependencies, and end-user documentation.
Ensure software licensing compliance and maintaining support from vendors
Maintains a strong customer-focus in providing services, at times conferring with vendors, partners, and clients.
Capable of comprehending, analyzing, and troubleshooting highly complex systems and production processes.
Evaluates, implements, and maintains production systems by studying requirements (design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials), conducting independent research, and soliciting operator feedback.
Maintains high-level awareness of security requirements and adheres to compliance practices and methods.
Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services;
follows vendor instructions and established procedures, and requests supporting services when necessary.
Conducts production equipment backups, resolves security vulnerabilities, and supports monthly patching cycle.
Prepares product and system reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and data trends.
Assists with local site qualifications for new product onboarding and upgrades.
Provides customer service, including effective support for internal users, and guidance for external stakeholders.

Rack servers and networking devices
Ability to manage network cabling for the servers
Work in Secure environment
Displays excellent work habits, including collaborative attitude, punctual attendance, and appropriate dress.
Work performed in a light industrial setting;
exposure to shop floor noise, and occasionally may lift up to 40 lbs.
Willingness to occasionally work beyond regular office hours when needed;
limited travel may be required.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach and move safely around the facilities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Excellent technical skills with platforms including MS-Windows, Linux, SQL Server, and Oracle environments.
Able to diagnose and resolve issues across multiple communication protocols, networks, and operating systems.
Prior experience implementing and maintaining hardware components including processors, circuit boards, routers, memory, storage devices, and databases.
Experience working with physical and virtual servers, and with complex automated production equipment.
Must have prior network and system administration experience with ability to maintain existing configurations and design new cost-effective solutions (high-quality, low-cost).
Must be able to multi-task and effectively manage a variety of assignments, some with competing deadlines.
Experience with SQL Server administration (backups, database setup, system administration) is preferred
Logical ability to analyze, deduce root cause, and troubleshoot technical challenges within complex data-driven configurations to resolve problems.
Strong experience with Active Directory, TCP/IP, connectivity and secure data communication such as sFTP, and IBM Connect:
Direct.
Must be willing to document designs, and able to present technical information in a non-technical manner.
Prior experience within highly-regulated industries, and working knowledge of encryption is preferred.
Consistently demonstrates timely assignment delivery in meeting deadlines, some with competing priorities.
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Adheres to company policies, follows department procedures and standard practices, and respects guidelines governing privacy, physical security, and information security.
Self-starter with ability to balance a sense of urgency against measured thinking and attention to detail.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor of Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related IT certification, plus 3 years of experience;
or an Associate Degree with 3+ years of experience in a similar role is required.
Preferred certifications include Microsoft (MCSE), Cisco, or CompTIA A+.
High level of computer competency in Microsoft Office Products (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio)
Knowledge of payment card industry (PCI) requirements, and EMV (Europay, Mastercard and Visa) is an asset.
Knowledge of manufacturing systems, preferably in the secure banking or payment card industry.
University or College certification in the field of computer science
Minimum 3 years experience administering Windows and Linux systems.
Minimum 3 years experience administering Storage Area network (NetAPP, HP, IBM)
Experience of 3 + years Windows WSUS and Linux patch management
Experience installing, configuring and maintaining different server hardware and associated network devices, including SCSI, RAID, Fiber Disks and HBA technology/technique
Minimum 3 years experience in VMware and/or Citrix XEN systems
Basic administering experience and knowledge of SQL
Experience in project management and deliver projects on time
Good verbal and written communication skill in English
Proven interpersonal, analytical, presentation and problem solving skills
Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize with attention to details
Self-motivated team player with ability to interact in a collaborate manner
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in meeting tight deadlines
Experience in common client applications such as MS Office, IE, PGP and SharePoint
Minimum 3 years understanding on and hands on experience in networking (LAN, WAN, VPN, IPSEC, Trunk).
