Internal Posting Material Handler -Shift Lead

Job Description
This job is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Material Handling position while supervising other Material Handlers. Responsible for operating a forklift for the purpose of moving, locating, stacking, and counting merchandise to support the production shift assigned. Position also serves as an after-hours receiver, along with loading and unloading trucks.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Maintains supplies of materials to production floor and routers.
Assists with implementing and sustaining procedures put in place.
Gathers and analyzes data to determine root causes of problems that occur.
Accountable for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and radio frequency and bar code equipment.
Coaches department employees regarding performance and other workplace matters by following the Company’s progressive discipline procedures;
receives recommendations and directives from management and Human Resources for discipline beyond the coaching step, when appropriate.
Holds the other Material Handlers accountable for all product transactions and product movements.
Communicates with contingent staffing agency regarding staffing issues and assignments, if applicable.
Removes finished products from the lines and routers.
Removes goods from the staging area to the yard.
Hangs bags of raw materials for the extruders.
Clears out trash boxes and waste, scrap, and cut boards.
Weighs up scrap and maintains proper paperwork for end of shifts.
Keeps warehouse and storage areas neat and clean, including outside dumpster pad.
Maintains proper inventory by using correct scanning procedures.
Ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and other directives of the department and the Company.
Other duties may be assigned.
