Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Human Resource Compliance Specialist to ensure our HR practices comply with all local, state, federal, and industry-specific regulations. This role is crucial in maintaining our commitment to legal compliance and ethical standards within the workplace. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HR laws and regulations, exceptional attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to EEO, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and OSHA.
Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures to reflect current regulations and best practices.
Conduct regular audits of HR activities and processes to ensure compliance with legal standards and internal policies.
Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, employee complaints, and regulatory inquiries.
Provide guidance and training to HR staff and management on compliance-related topics and changes in regulations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, audits, and investigations.
Collaborate with legal counsel, as needed, to address complex compliance issues and ensure proactive compliance strategies.
Stay informed of industry trends and changes in regulations that impact HR practices and advise management accordingly.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR compliance or a related HR role.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.
Proven ability to develop and implement effective HR policies and procedures.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and educate others on compliance matters.
Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant software applications.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
