Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Human Resources team as a Human Resource Assistant. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the HR department and assist with various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and recordkeeping. This role requires strong organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment Support:
Assist with job postings, candidate screening, and scheduling interviews. Coordinate pre-employment assessments and background checks. Maintain applicant tracking system and candidate files.
Onboarding and Orientation:
Coordinate new hire orientation sessions and assist with the onboarding process. Prepare new hire paperwork, including offer letters, employment contracts, and benefits enrollment forms. Ensure timely completion of onboarding tasks and documentation.
Employee Records Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment history, and performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirements and data protection regulations.
Benefits Administration:
Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries. Provide support during open enrollment periods. Maintain benefits records and assist with benefits-related communications.
Employee Relations:
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and requests. Assist with employee relations issues, including investigations, documentation, and resolution. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
HR Policies and Procedures:
Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs. Communicate policies to employees and provide guidance on HR-related matters.
Training and Development:
Coordinate training sessions and professional development activities. Assist with tracking training attendance and maintaining training records.
HR Reporting:
Prepare HR reports and analytics, including headcount, turnover, and other key metrics. Assist with HR data analysis and trend identification.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist with audits and compliance initiatives.
Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing HR-related correspondence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
1-2 years of experience in human resources or administrative role preferred.
Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS software.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, document preparation, and recordkeeping.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to learn and grow in the HR field.
