To ensure that the Hotel Department is equipped with all necessary items to provide exceptional service to our guests:
Order subsistence, bonded, consumables, uniforms, linens, flowers, entertainment supplies, equipment, and other necessary items for the Hotel Department, following the storing plan posted in MXP, freight schedule, and Company policy.
Maintain the Hotel Stores department to operate at fleet-wide standards and parameters.
Keep accurate inventory records of all hotel items.
Ensure adherence to proper maintenance and cleaning procedures, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in all storerooms and Hotel Stores areas.
Operational Duties &
Responsibilities:
Perform all duties in accordance with Crystal Basics, the company's Safety Management System (SMS), STCW requirements, MLC promulgated standards, USPHS guidelines, and environmental regulations.
Perform various functions in different service venues and throughout the ship as required.
Order subsistence, bonded, consumables, uniforms, linens, flowers, entertainment supplies, equipment, and other requested items for the Hotel Department, following the storing plan posted in MXP, freight schedule, and Company safety policies.
Ensure ordered items do not exceed ships' storage capacity or compromise ship safety.
Coordinate stock ordering for vending machines with the Crew Officer.
Supervise cleaning procedures and maintenance of all storerooms and Hotel Stores areas.
Oversee daily operations of food, beverage, and consumable issuing.
Maintain USPH standards consistently.
Process all invoices in MXP.
Monitor shortages, credits, and upcoming challenges through continuous communication with the corporate Purchasing Department.
Coordinate wine requisitions with the Head Sommelier and obtain Food &
Beverage Manager approval.
Prepare ship requisitions and in-port purchase orders.
Organize loadings in alignment with other onboard departments, adhering to Company policies, USPH standards, and USCG rules.
Receive, issue, and spot-check all Hotel-related items in store.
Conduct a full bonded inventory monthly.
Ensure all Hotel inventory procedures comply with company policy.
Plan ahead for upcoming cruises.
Train, coach, counsel, support, and delegate responsibilities to Hotel Stores Department staff.
Establish duty schedules for subordinates in accordance with Marine Labor Convention (MLC) 2006 requirements.
Monitor subordinate team members' hours of work and rest as per MLC 2006, addressing violations and taking corrective action when necessary.
Report repeat offenders to Senior Management for further corrective or disciplinary action.
Attend meetings, trainings, and educational activities as required;
initiate departmental meetings to identify improvement opportunities and address quality/service concerns.
Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor at all times, even under pressure, adhering to Crystal Basics principles.
Interact professionally and courteously with guests, fellow team members, and subordinates alike.
Perform any other operational duties as assigned.
