Job Description
Want to make money? On average in the Saint Paul Mill, a new production employee makes around $82,000 a year.
Pay:
$24.78 per hour for Extra Helper (Production Worker) in the Mill. Individuals must be trained and able to work in 2 positions above this position.
When qualified and working as 5th hand then pay is $26.75 per hour. When qualified and working as 4th hand then pay is $27.40 per hour.
Shift differential:
Per Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Some Duties/Responsibilities:

- General housekeeping and cleanliness. Cuts tails and assist with threading boxboard web
- Assists with the installation of new ropes Operates powered industrial equipment.
- Maintains safe and clean work area.
- Maintains equipment in safe working condition.
- Adheres to all mill health and safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to injury/incident/concern reporting, participating in incident investigations and Learning Events, and following any return-to-work requirements.
- Attends and completes all required training.
- Works safely and complies with all Local, State, Federal, and WestRock laws, regulations, and practices.
- Performs the essential functions of the other positions within the department on a relief and fill-in basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to work in the United States and have acceptable I-9 documentation.
- Must obtain and maintain forklift certification via internal training.
- Must train and qualify to work in other positions in the Department.
- Read &
interpret documents such as safety rules, operating &
maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, tape measures, etc.
- Must be able to add fractions Must join/be a member of USW Local 264 and meet/sustain requirements of the current appliable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Hours of work:

- Must be willing to work varying shifts for weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
