In this leadership role - you will lead Surety North America (NA), reporting to Head of Financial Risks. this role can be located in any or our offices across US and Canada - ie Stamford, Miami, Charlotte, Minneapolis or Toronto)
Specific job responsibilities include:
The role is to effectively execute PartnerRe’s Group underwriting strategy, build, develop and manage client and broker relationships and portfolio of contracts in North America in order to generate target return on capital deployed for Surety North America
Handle results-oriented underwriting by building-up, developing and monitoring a technically sound and profitable portfolio, this includes pricing in coordination with Pricing Actuaries and ensuring that all underwriting actions and decisions are properly documented
Acquire and maintain new profitable business in the respective business line
Provide a senior market presence and continue to build the PartnerRe brand with key clients and brokers
Support and foster a culture of agility, high performance, client centricity and solution- oriented decision making
Represent PartnerRe at market events, underwriting file reviews and workshops
Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and procedures.
Work in concert with other PartnerRe Financial Risk underwriters to manage global accounts for consistency of approach and outward messaging
Support portfolio management and exposure/risk accumulations according to corporate guidelines.
Interact effectively with other departments, namely:
Actuarial, Global Accounts, Claims, Reserving, Technical Accounting, Legal &
Compliance and Underwriting Office
Handle administrative tasks, including review of contractual documents and endorsement requests, data input, maintain data quality of portfolio, etc.
Analysis and monitoring of market trends, economic and legal developments and assess impacts to PartnerRe
