POSITION SUMMARY
The Head of Fundraising &
Major Gifts will work closely with the Chief Impact Officer to own and execute an annual fundraising campaign of $5,000,000. This includes developing strategy and implementing research, relationship-building, solicitation, and stewardship for a growing individual, corporate and foundation donor program, along with a capital campaign for sustaining the SoLa Foundation Technology and Entrepreneurship Center. This person will also work with a wider team that handles graphic design, community events, tenant relations and more.

Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Planning &
Management
● Generate annual revenue of $2,000,000 for the SoLa Foundation, with a stretch goal of $5,000,000 in a calendar year
● Further develop existing data-management systems
● Develop, own and execute comprehensive fundraising campaign of $5,000,000;
participate in budgeting and cash flow reporting
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship
● Build and steward relationships with individual donors and institutional funders ensuring personal attention and service
● Spearhead portfolio growth, including working with leadership, board, and partners to funnel prospects into the solicitation pipeline
● Produce fundraising appeals, updates, and other correspondence in alignment with organization messaging and brand guidelines
● Collaborate with marketing team on the development and refinement of (new and existing) collateral in support of fundraising strategies
● Develop, refine and execute (new and existing) donor events in collaboration and coordination with the programs team
● Manage recordkeeping and acknowledgment process
Other Support
● Keep informed of current events and partnership opportunities in South LA
● Occasionally work evenings or weekends for special events which may require Southern California travel● Complete other tasks and projects as they arise
REQUIREMENTS
● Bachelor’s Degree, advanced degree preferred
● Minimum 15 years’ experience post undergrad with at least 7 years’ experience managing diverse teams of professionals
● Minimum 10 years’ experience developing donor outreach programs including digital campaigns, personal solicitation, events, corporate giving, in-kind giving and partnerships and donor management systems
● Experience directly soliciting six-figure gifts from individuals and institutions required
● Experience with portfolios of donors in the 5-to-7-figure giving level
