Graphic Designer
job description
The Graphic Designer role will work alongside the marketing team to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media across various departments and brands of the organization. This person will, visualize, and create graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos for use on website, email, social media, print designs, event collateral, internal and external marketing and more. The ideal candidate has an exceptional creative mind and a strong ability to translate requirements and visions into dynamic design.
Duties and responsibilities include the following:
Work closely with the rest of the Marketing Team and other internal departments to provide design expertise, brand compliance, and production support for the entire organization.
Design graphics for projects including but not limited to email, social media, print collateral, website, and event collateral.
Ensure that the company brand and vision are kept consistent across all marketing materials.
Ensure that all creative projects are free of errors, on-time, and on target for the audience and objectives.
Organize and maintain a collateral and image library of all design related material including logos, illustrations, brochures, newsletters, website, and e-mail marketing layouts.
Work closely with our internal Printshop and external promotional vendors.
Assist in the planning and execution of company headshots
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in art, graphic design, marketing, communications, journalism, or related field
3+ years of work experience in the graphics design field
Experience in photography and the digital photographic process
Knowledge of the print production process, production techniques, and correct file output procedures
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong graphic design skills and experience using the Adobe Creative Suite.
Strong understanding of design, copy, and web practices and emerging trends
Able to manage &
prioritize multiple tasks/projects, work autonomously, and meet deadlines
Superior communication skills
Ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment, yet as an independent worker with minimal supervision
Strong computer skills – proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Hybrid. Position is located in Richmond VA.
