a trailing spouse or dependent of someone working for the u. s.government (military or civilian), a missionary, a student attending school in a foreign country, a peace corps participant, oras an employee of a u. s.-based employer/company. if the inspection service is unable to perform a complete backgroundcheck because of residency outside the united states, such individuals will be ineligible for postal employment. functional purpose creates original graphic designs and revises others to support activities of the postal inspection service. ensures all products communicate a corporate image consistent with inspection service goals and policies. coordinates national development and maintenance of inspection service internet and intranet sites to ensure postal service brand and corporate identity standards are being met. duties and responsibilities 1. creates and edits graphic designs for flyers, programs, publications, and posters for inspection service events and products. ensures designs communicate a corporate image consistent with inspection service goals and policies. 2. assists in the design and production of visual presentation materials requested by various headquarters organizations, and ensures designs meet inspection service branding standards and usps corporate identity standards. 3. provides assistance to and collaborates with team members to create designs and illustrations for internal and external communications materials. 4. ensures policy and guidelines and standards are adhered to for use of corporate identity materials on products. 5. provides assistance in developing technologies and new products in a variety of industries, including but not limited to paper, computer graphics, and printing. 6. oversees vendor design work to ensure proper application of postal logos and other corporate identify standards. 7. coordinates and monitors the national development and modification of inspection service web sites, both internet and intranet locations to ensure inspection service brand and usps corporate identity standards are being met. 8. reviews and edits website design and formats authorized by internal customers for display and makes recommendations when necessary for modifications or enhancements. 9. provides information and assistance to website developers in order to meet prescribed style, screen layouts, and navigational format. 10. coordinates the design and production of publications and promotional items to support corporate goals and objectives. 11. utilizes insite program for tracking and prioritizing work projects. supervision manager of unit to which assigned. the united states postal service has the following excellent and challenging employment opportunity for highly motivatedand innovative individuals. successful candidates must demonstrate through a combination of education, training, andexperience the following requirements:
requirements 1. ability to coordinate the work of employees in other units including providing guidance, organizing and monitoring the work, establishing effective work relationships and facilitating the flow of work-related information. 2. special conditions:
willingness to submit to a tier 2 moderate scope background investigation (mbi) for security clearance. the investigation requires completion of a questionnaire, fingerprints for a criminal records check, and may require a drug test. the successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain the security clearance while holding the position. 3. knowledge of commercial art and graphic design to create designs for internal and external communications materials. 4. knowledge of corporate identity policies and standards. 5. ability to design and/or coordinate the creative production of web pages, pamphlets, brochures, posters, visual aids, and similar materials for inspection service headquarters and field personnel. 6. ability to design and coordinate the production of computer graphics, and related activities such as retouching, obtaining photo prints, photo lettering, and type. 7. skill in using adobe creative suite and microsoft pro. 8. knowledge of video editing programs to create audio, graphic and video effects to enhance productions. 9. education requirement:
possession of a bachelors or graduate degree in graphic design or a closely related field from a college or university accredited by a national or regional accreditation organization recognized and sanctioned by the u. s. department of education. desirable qualifications:
experience assessing program goals to include creating design strategies while maintaining consistency in branding;
