Position Summary
The assistantship is a part-time position responsible for assisting with all phases of an NCAA Division III tennis program including recruiting, retention, player training and development and other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Tennis Coach. The position will begin on August 1st, 2024, and includes tuition remission, a partial meal plan, and a $3,000 stipend per semester.
Responsibilities
Assists the head coach with the daily operations of the women’s tennis program at North Park University.
Analyze performance and instruct athletes in tennis techniques and strategies in preparation for and during athletics competition.
Assist with all phases of competitive NCAA and CCIW compliant recruiting.
Execute match and practice planning/evaluation, including video exchange and breakdown.
Ensure a commitment to the academic success of tennis student-athletes, including monitoring academic performance, attendance, and social behavior.
Build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and the campus community.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Tennis Coach, Assistant Vice President for Athletics and Sport Management, and Associate and Assistant Athletic Directors.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
Must obtain acceptance in a North Park University graduate program.
Successful coaching at the high school level or playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level is required.
Ability to work an untraditional work schedule (i.E., frequent nights and weekends).
Can lift and move athletic equipment.
Willing to travel with team, by vehicle or plane.
Have a valid driver’s license.
