Position Summary
North Park University, a member of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, would like to announce that applications are now being accepted for the position of Cheerleading/Dance Graduate Assistant Coach. The assistantship will begin in August 2024 and includes tuition remission, a partial meal plan, and a $3,000 stipend per semester.
Responsibilities
Assist head coaches with the daily operations of the Cheerleading and Dance programs at North Park University.
Analyze performance and instruct team members in events and techniques in preparation for and during scheduled events.
Assist head coaches and program advisor with all phases of competitive recruiting.
Ensure a commitment to the academic success of Cheerleading and Dance team members.
Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and the campus community.
Manage equipment usage.
Assist with supervising the daily operation of the 68,000 square foot Helwig Recreation facility.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Cheerleading and Dance head coaches, program advisor, and the Vice President for Athletics and Sport Management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
Must obtain acceptance in a North Park University graduate program.
Successful coaching at the high school level or playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level is required.
Ability to work an untraditional work schedule (i.E., frequent nights and weekends).
Can lift and move athletic equipment.
Willing to travel with team, by vehicle or plane.
Have a valid driver’s license.
