Overview:
In this role, you will work directly with the senior leadership team of a fast-growing global organization to shape and lead an end-to-end internal communications strategy for thousands of employees worldwide.

The Global Director of Communications will handle the strategy, creation, and delivery of communications across Gallagher Bassett’s workforce;
many of who work remotely. This role requires a wide range of communication experience, with shown success working in a fast-paced environment, guiding and influencing senior stakeholders, and the ability to quickly understand Gallagher Bassett’s mission, voice, and brand to ensure it’s reflected in communications. You will need to be able to understand our operation, our business, and how our people work. As Global Director, you will help to define the voice of Gallagher Bassett and lead the internal communications strategy, communications calendar, channels, and prioritization.

The ideal candidate can efficiently play both strategic roles and has the ability to execute the agreed strategies. You will be a vital connector, bridging the gap between various business partners, divisions and functions to ensure seamless and effective communication. By fostering strong relationships and collaboration with key stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in delivering cohesive and impactful communications that align with Gallagher Bassett’s goals and objectives.

The role will sit within Gallagher’s corporate communications team, with Gallagher Bassett as your business partner. You will have the support of talented peers and will be able to learn from them as they engage different business areas and employees across the organization.

How you'll make an impact:
Work with senior leadership to translate business goals into a strategic communications framework and plan.
Develop the voice of Gallagher Basset within Gallagher
Create and deliver communications for Gallagher Bassett, from operational updates to executive messaging.
Own and lead the key communication channels within Gallagher Bassett.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify the best platforms, audiences and timing for communication strategy to ensure maximum employee engagement.
Lead multiple non-reporting line relationships to efficiently define solutions for the business.
Test and implement new communications tools and digital platforms to reach audiences better.
Support the corporate communications team in creating a best-in-class internal communications function.
Connect divisional and functional communicators, creating awareness and opportunities for sharing across the organization.
Document and share best practices, procedures, and policies in internal communications.
Measure the effectiveness of communication efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
Tailor communications to multiple internal audiences, including executives, managers, and a primarily remote workforce.
Ensure consistent messaging and integrity of the Gallagher Bassett brand to maintain and promote a positive image.
Write, edit, proofread, and revise communications.

About you:
Required:

Bachelor's degree and 7 years related experience required.

Highly Preferred:

Preferred experience of 10+ years of project management experience leading communication campaigns. Insurance and branch/remote workforce background highly desired.
Experience with communication methodologies, systems, and tools.
Agility working across multiple communications programs and mediums.
Ability to write and work quickly, be self-starting, and be on time for delivery of content.
Persuasiveness in collaborating and communicating across a matrixed organization.
Strong background in executive positioning and ghostwriting.
Expert-level skills in M365 and the MS Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Outlook, and SharePoint).
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Superior attention to detail and excellent editing skills.
Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, writing and/or equivalent work experience.
Ideally has worked in a company with premier communications and high level of employee engagement.
Experience working globally across multiple time-zones
