Founding K-3 Science Teacher

Excelsior Village Academies, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Founding K-3 Science Teacher to join our team. As a founding teacher, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape our science curriculum and engage students in hands-on learning experiences. You will collaborate with other educators to develop engaging lessons, implement science instruction, and promote a love for science among our young learners.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive science curriculum for students in grades K-3 that aligns with state standards and best practices.
Design and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry skills.
Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel inspired to explore and discover the world of science.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate science instruction into other subject areas.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on the latest research and best practices in science education.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
Valid teaching certification
Prior experience teaching science to elementary students
Strong knowledge of elementary science curriculum and instructional strategies
Passion for science education and a desire to inspire young learners
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a startup environment
