The Health Equity and Food Security department is made up of Assistant Directors, a Community Health Nurse, Program Managers, Community Health Workers, Resource and Health Navigators, a variety of Food Pantry Operational Staff, Child Nutrition Specialists and AmeriCorps members and/or interns to support the overall work of each program. The Health Equity department works closely in partnership with Parkland Hospital and other system level entities. The department operates under a larger strategic goal that every neighbor is connected to a healthcare provider and social supports. The food department consists of feeding programs under the Child Nutrition arm that includes Child and Adult Care Food Programs (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Programs (SFSP) and an onsite robust food pantry. The department operates under a larger strategic goal that every neighbor has accessible, affordable, and healthy food. Team members are passionate about working with neighbors through journey while also managing reporting requirements necessary to maintain grant funding, including accurate grant reporting and data entry. Team members effectively communicate through in-person meetings with fellow staff, interactions with neighbors, and communication with all stakeholders necessary to the vision of restoring hope for the thousands of neighbors living in poverty in our city.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Food Pantry Program Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the CitySquare Food Pantry. The food pantry operates during weekdays and has limited evening and weekend hours. The Food Pantry Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the food pantry team, partner with the Manager of Volunteers and Corporate Relations and AmeriCorps Program Manager to ensure proper operations within the CitySquare Food Pantry. They are responsible for managing the procurement of food;
maintaining existing and sourcing new donated food opportunities;
and efficiently and effectively storing and rotating all inventory for the food pantry. They are responsible for the ongoing compliance with all food bank, safety and health department regulations and guidelines. They will manage and maintain databases on a timely basis to ensure integrity and accuracy of all program data. They will work collaboratively with Operations and Neighbor Resource Center to achieve shared goals. In addition, the manager will support other CitySquare programs and develop new community partnerships that help sustain the program and further the mission of CitySquare.
Requirements
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Effectively recruit, train, supervise and evaluate all staff including employees, volunteers, interns, and AmeriCorps members 2. Responsible for ensuring all operational needs (e.G., staffing, volunteers, food sourcing, etc.) of the CitySquare food pantry are fully functional.
3. Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator and AmeriCorps Program Manager to ensure proper training is provided and expectations are set with our volunteers, AmeriCorps Members and AARP
4. Work collaboratively with Neighbor Resource Center &
Child Nutrition team members to achieve shared goals.
5. Maintain and update the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all program data.
6. Manages food scheduling database and oversees the day-to-day scheduling logistics to ensure accurate documentation and identify troubleshooting areas to fix issues.
7. Coordinate and Communicate with Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteer Manager to ensure pantry is adequately staffed for volunteers to help manage day-to-day operations of the food pantry. Provide reporting as requested to Assistant Director.
8. Always maintain and model a high level of customer service quality.
9. Ensure neighbors are served in an efficient and timely manner.
10.Ensure full compliance with all food bank, safety, and health department regulations and requirements. Manages related inspections, as necessary.
11.Manage efficient and effective storage, labeling and rotation of all inventory with the pantry floor and warehouse.
12.Handle timely and fiscally responsible food &
supplies procurement.
13.Manage the food inventory to ensure adequate levels are maintained for ongoing food pantry operations.
14.Ensure all deliveries and pick-ups are scheduled and executed on a timely basis.
15.Maintain existing and source new donated food opportunities. Promote healthier food choices whenever possible.
16.Develop and maintain all food pantry Standards of Operations.
17.Strive to develop and implement process improvements with the discretion of the Assistant Director of Food and Health programs.
18.Assists with development and implementation of program activities that facilitate the achievement of the goals, objectives and strategies as outlined by the Sr. Director of Health Equity and Food Security.
19.Work collaboratively with Operations to coordinate team safety training, oversight of the vehicle fleet and maintenance issues within the Food Pantry and warehouse.
20.Assist with building and managing key partner relationships with vendors, donors, and North Texas Food Bank.
21. Other duties as assigned.
