Job Overview:


The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair activities of the company's fleet, ensuring work is completed efficiently, within budget, and upholds the highest safety standards. This role involves supervising maintenance staff, coordinating repair processes, and implementing cost reduction strategies. The supervisor will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain documentation accurately.


Duties and responsibilities:



  • Supervise daily maintenance and safety of associates within fleet maintenance, ensuring adherence to budget.
  • Assist in managing work schedules and coordinate necessary repairs with relevant departments.
  • Support fleet maintenance operations, including expense reporting and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Audit documentation daily for accuracy, including work orders and preventive maintenance logs.
  • Manage fleet services budget, including expenses for parts and supplies.
  • Stay informed on technical advancements and maintain technical manuals.
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Facilitate training and professional development for maintenance staff.
  • Participate in the on-call program for emergency situations.
  • Log maintenance activities into the computerized system (CMMS) and ensure clean maintenance areas.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, safe condition.
  • Respond to emergencies, prioritizing associate and facility safety.



  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Education:
    High School diploma or GED required. Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training (2 years) preferred.
  • Experience:
    5 years in fleet maintenance and repair with 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in fleet maintenance.
  • Licenses:
    Valid state Driver s License with a clean driving record. Class A CDL and completion of a defensive driving program preferred.
  • Certifications:
    ASE Certification and Mobile Air Conditioning (EPA 609) Certification preferred. Annual Inspector Certification and Brake Inspector Certification desired.
  • Skills:
    Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and braking systems. Proficiency in using all necessary tools for maintenance and diagnostics.
  • Must provide personal hand tools.
