The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance of the company's leased equipment;
working with and holding to account our outside service vendors. This role requires extensive knowledge of the trucking industry and excellent organizational skills. The Fleet Maintenance Coodinator will ensure that all vehicles are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards while working with operations team to minimize equipment down time.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Maintenance Coordination:
Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for the fleet.
Oversee and schedule routine maintenance and repairs for all trucks.
Coordinate and maintain maintenance records, IFTA Filings, etc ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
Develop and implement solutions to improve fleet reliability and performance.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues, coordinating with our maintenance vendors during breakdowns and serving as the liason between drivers, service vendors and operations team.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all trucks meet safety and regulatory standards.
Coordinate installation of safety equipment such as Motive units, cameras and other equipment such as BestPass/PrePass
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
Assist with driver orientations as needed
Collaborate with safety personnel to address any issues or concerns.
Budget and Inventory:
Ensure company stays within the fleet maintenance budget.
Monitor Fuel Spend &
Assign EFS Fuel Cards when necessay
Monitor and control maintenance costs.
Vendor and Supplier Coordination:
Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and suppliers
Evaluate vendor performance and address any issues.
Coordinate with vendors to meet safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of the trucking industry and vehicle maintenance.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance or a similar role.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in fleet maintenance software and other relevant technologies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
