Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead our financial management and accounting operations within our food manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, with a proven track record of success in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
Track budget performance against actual results, investigating variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Provide financial guidance and support to department managers to ensure alignment with budgetary goals.
Cash Flow Management:
Manage cash flow projections and liquidity planning to ensure adequate funding for operational needs and capital investments.
Oversee cash management activities, including cash disbursements, collections, and banking relationships.
Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and working capital efficiency.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct periodic reviews and audits of financial processes and systems to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance financial transparency, accuracy, and efficiency.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Perform financial analysis and modeling to support business decision-making, investment evaluations, and strategic initiatives.
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to various departments and stakeholders as needed.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and process improvements to drive business performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in food manufacturing.
Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis tools, and ERP systems.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
