Who are we looking for? Maybe it's you. The Role…Assists with the day-to-day billing, invoicing, accruals and budget forecasting for paid media, advertising, and search. Supports the forecasting of revenue and ROI driven by all media. Supports accurate reconciliation and accrual of expenses for multi-million dollar marketing budget. Collaborates with Finance to provide spend forecasts and analysis that are used in execution of strategic plans. Acts as the Marketing liaison with the legal department and responsible for all marketing contracts. What you will doSupports Management of the Marketing BudgetDirects and manages the marketing budget function by:
+ Understanding implications of the cost of media as it relates to ROI and revenue and being able to use this data as input for modeling+ Analyze variances and provide variance explanations to finance, accounting and management.+ Developing and maintaining chart of accounts and associated accounting processes at Choice.+ Maintaining detailed back-up documentation and records.+ Communicating with third party vendors regarding contract/payment terms and the invoice payment process.+ Supporting manager to develop and review spend forecasts, including assessment of risks and opportunities. Supports Budget and Billing Working in partnership with leadership, manages the day-to-day media, advertising, and search budget function by:
+ Reconciling invoices with contracts and estimates, ensuring accurate accrual accounting and allocation of expenses back to various internal departments.+ Coding invoices, obtaining approval for payment and forwarding to A/P for processing.+ Tracking spend against budget+ Incorporate monthly analytic findings into quarterly forecasts+ Providing input into the planning and development of marketing budgets.+ Alerting Sr. Director regarding accrual or allocation issues.+ Supporting internal review process with finance and accounting for media, advertising, and search spend reconciliation, accruals and forecasts, ensuring compliance with Finance and corporate policies.+ Understanding the role of the department in the overall corporate strategy and setting budget objectives that are aligned with this role. Tracking internal budgets, including T Marketing Contracts and Agency SOWs Working in partnership with leadership, manages contracts for external vendors and Agencies of Record:
+ Work with Choice legal team to execute contracts in a timely and accurate fashion for all marketing vendors + Understand the implications of the AOR contracts and Statements of Work in terms of how it affects the AOR’s availability to work on Out of Scope projects Process + Working in partnership with leadership, internal teams, and AOR’s, will help improve and document the processes for such areas as billing, contracts, integrations, project management, agency communications, launching new projects, etc. Awards + Managing all Advertising Award submissions + Develop overarching plan to submit advertising campaign, creative, and media plans for national and regional awards + Developing, writing, and submitting the award submissions What you should have… Education, Experience and Knowledge+ Relevant experience in an Accounting function.+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, from a four-year college or university;
or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Strong understanding and knowledge of expense/accrual accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.+ Experience with marketing and advertising expense reporting is preferred.+ Previous experience in the hotel/travel industry or in a franchise-based business is a plus Skills+ Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-up. + Excellent verbal and listening communication skills.+ Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor.+ Demonstrated project management skills.+ Highly proficient in the use Excel and PowerPoint, especially graphing programs. + Proficient in the use of accounting software.Abilities+ Ability to drive results in a team-oriented and cross-functional environment.+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively.+ Ability to develop and manage successful internal and external relationships.+ Ability to uphold Choice’s Values &
