Job Responsibilities
Represent Koppers to sawmill owners and managers as the crosstie field and yard buyer
Build strong relationships with area vendors to ensure a continuous supply and fair pricing for crossties.
Yard management of a Koppers rail yard located in the area This will require purchasing and grading crossties, inventory control, car loading, unloading trucks, minor maintenance of yard equipment.
Heavy equipment operation
- Boom Truck
- Wheel Loader
Could require travel to and from sawmills to purchase raw materials.
Travel at times will require overnight stays.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, BS in Forestry preferred
- 3 years' experience required in construction, heavy equipment, or related industry;
Sawmill or other forestproduct purchasing experience preferred
- Proficiency with computer spreadsheets preferred
- Knowledge of railroad tie specifications preferred
- Customer or vendor-facing experience preferred
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to set priorities, analyze problems, work independently, and manage time
