Faculty Professor Visiting Assistant Theatre Arts
The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre and Performance Studies position beginning in August 2020.
The successful candidate will demonstrate significant expertise in theatre history and performance studies. The department is especially interested in scholars with a specialization in African, Asian, Latin American, or global Indigenous theatre and performance, including diasporic practices. Duties of the position include teaching multi-level undergraduate courses in world theatre history and performance studies;
mentoring and advising undergraduates in research and practice;
and contributing to thediversity goals of the department in scholarship, teaching, and practice. Duties also may include supporting production work in accordance with the candidate's areas of expertise.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. completed by the date of hire and will demonstrate evidence of teaching excellence, artistic practice, and an active research profile in the field.
