Position overview
The Executive Director of IT drives the technology strategy and operational capabilities for the company. Based on the evaluation of current tech stack and capability and gaps/pain points across the business and operations, this leader will develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term strategy for our business and operational technology portfolios with a strong technical team to execute against the strategy. The Executive Director of IT will serve as a business enabler and a partner with strong relationships across business leaders and operations, working across both clinical and back-office technology.
Role and Responsibilities
Oversee and develop the technology roadmap and strategy that supports the business objectives
Recruit and retain top technical talent;
define a technology organization with right mix of in-house and contractual (3rd party) talent/ capabilities
Build strong relationships with business leaders across the company and develop a detailed understanding of their issues, challenges, and opportunities;
deliver the right Business Application Architecture (through thoughtful “Build vs Buy” decisions in favor of COTS solutions) to deliver on the priorities for business
Proactively create a strategic financial investment plan for technology, ensuring that funds are spent in alignment with the company’s mission and goals
Maintain high standards of performance across the organization through collaboration
Maintain a strong grasp of industry and technology trends to ensure that the company remains in a leading position with regard to its competitors
Partner with the business leaders to build a scalable and secure Data Architecture/ Data Model to support the business applications
Improve operational efficiency and processes using technology (AI/ML, RPA, etc.)
Conceptualize a strong security posture in line with all industry requirements keeping patient safety and privacy in mind;
partner with internal and external partners to deliver on the same
Help create a scalable architecture through a thoughtful orchestration of SaaS and Cloud partners
Requirements
10-15 years of relevant technology and development experience with a minimum of 5 years of strategic leadership experience as a Sr. Executive
Experience in the healthcare industry, especially working with practice management, patient engagement, EMR, and RCM platforms in a multi-site healthcare environment is a plus
Demonstrated ability to create and execute a clear strategic vision that supports business objectives, and flex readily when business circumstances change
Proven track record of success within a VC or private equity-backed environment
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence all levels within an organization, most importantly at the senior executive level
Sharp business acumen and extremely comfortable building budgets, managing and negotiating contracts and cross-functional partnerships
Experience building collaborative, trusting relationships, and being comfortable working with colleagues across a range of locations and levels of technology expertise
