Job Description
Job summary:
Candidates must be able to direct and redirect students in a confident manner.In addition, candidates must have a positive attitude, be willing to work as part of a team, and be flexible with their daily assignments. This position includes lunch and recess supervision.

Responsibilities and tasks include:
Assist in general classroom operational procedures such as setting up and operating audiovisual equipment, setting up physical education equipment, preparing and setting up art supplies.
Work directly with students individually or in small groups on academic and motor or social skills, e.G., math, science, English, color recognition, decision making, self-esteem building, etc.
Assist students and teachers in large group activities/projects such as art, physical education, dramatics.
Seek out special instructional materials to assist with students having particular learning problems, e.G., separate math skill worksheet, not a part of teacher's curriculum.
Type worksheets, tests, or various instructional material;
duplicate and assemble.
Correct tests via computer. Record results in grade books.
Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee.
Include Lunch and Recess
?Qualifications:
Demonstrate ability to work with high-needs students.
Have basic understanding of how to utilize digital learning devices (e.G. iPads).
Computer and word processing experience helpful.
Appicants must be Highly Qualified-Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
Two years of study at an institution of higher education;
Minnesota’s standard;
A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
An Associate’s (or higher) degree;
Minnesota’s standard:
An AA, AS, AAS, (or higher) degree OR
Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
Working with children;
Communicating effectively in verbal and written formats;
Developing collaborative working relationship with students and staff;
Using positive behavior intervention strategies;
Resolving conflict effectively;
And communities;
Promoting positive environments by working effectively with diverse students, staff, families
Using computer software such as email, Microsoft office and Google Drive;
Organizing and managing time effectively;
Working in a flexible and adaptable manner with a tolerance for ambiguity;
and
Modeling the attributes of an efficacious learner:
resourceful, self-directed, responsible,problem solver and skilled communicator.

Salary:
View Classification I (1) salary grid on page 4, section 2, and classification, page 5, section 2 on Educational Support Professional contract
Work schedule:
6hours/day;
5 days/week;
5 hours/day Title I;
1 hour/day clerical
