Environmental Scientist - Remediation

Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Remediation team in our Buffalo, NY office. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients.
This is a field-base role comprising approximately 80% field work and 20% office-based work. The candidate will join a large established team conducting environmental assessment and remediation projects across New York. This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work on a range of projects, and a positive attitude.
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a project team. Note this role may require travel throughout New York/New Jersey area (from days to weeks) to support projects as needed.
The job responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:
Performing routine fieldwork working under close supervision from project managers. Field work may include soil, sediment, surface water and/or groundwater sampling, operation and maintenance of remedial systems, and remedial construction oversight including subcontractor management.
Participating in site visits and coordinating and assisting field staff as required.
Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Develop knowledge of job-specificfederal, state, and local laws and regulations and assigned job specifications.
Collecting and analyzing data under the supervision of an experienced scientist/engineer.
Preparing progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Attending meetings and reporting on project tasks.
