Roles and Responsibilities:
Work alongside the Project Managers, managing design progress, procurement, and subcontractor and vendor management.
Project cost negotiation with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing.
Development of scopes of work and procuring Request for Quote (RFQ) packages
Logistic planning allowing contractors to complete work in timely and efficient manner
Deliver quality projects within the given time frame and budget
Interact with clients in a professional manner
Work with Engineering, Designers, Construction Manager, Admin Team on project related basis
Track/Negotiate change orders
Submit RFI’s and submittals
Write accurate schedules
Create, organize, and distribute bid documents
Coordinate and collect subcontractor and vendor bids to assist Project Managers in preparing accurate and timely cost estimates
Evaluate bids for materials, equipment, and supplies, and select vendors for goods and services
Generate purchase orders to vendors and track purchase order
Coordinate equipment and material deliveries for Project Managers and others
The work may take place in a combination of office settings and construction sites. The Project Engineer must be willing to travel to various project sites and work outdoors in various weather conditions, as necessary
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
Education or formal training in project management and/or engineering is required.
2+ years of experience in a construction, engineering, or architectural setting is preferred.
Proficient in Abode PDF and Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Attention to Detail:
Ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical skills and the ability to propose solutions to problems.
Communication:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate across various levels of an organization.
Adaptability:
Ability to adapt to changes and work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in Procore, Timberline, and Microsoft Project is preferred but not required
Working knowledge of construction industry standards is preferred, but not required.
Financial management experience creating and managing complex budgets
Results-orientated with proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
