This role is crucial for managing plant site regulatory and compliance activities related to reclamation, water quality, chemical and waste management, air quality, and environmental management systems. Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all environmental permits and regulatory requirements at local, state, and federal levels.
Safety Adherence:
Uphold all site safety and environmental policies/procedures, including OSHA and MSHA regulations.
Program Oversight:
Lead environmental programs focused on reclamation, water quality, chemical/waste management, air quality, and environmental management.
Regulatory Guidance:
Provide regulatory guidance for production processes, maintenance, and capital projects.
Agency Communication:
Maintain effective communication with regulatory agencies.
Reporting:
Ensure timely and accurate completion of environmental compliance reports.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on regulatory requirements through training and provide technical support for continuous improvement projects and safety initiatives.
Operational Awareness:
Stay informed of day-to-day operations and potential compliance impacts.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
BS in Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
Experience:
5+ years of Environmental Engineering/Leadership experience in a chemical plant or related industrial environment.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in water quality, air emissions stack testing, sustainability, SPCC, and supervision of environmental technicians.
Work Authorization:
Ability to work without sponsorship now or in the future.
